Red Rock sits southwest of Rapid City off Sheridan Lake Road, and it is one of the premier addresses in the city. If a client tells me they want new construction, pines, and a golf course out the back, this is the first place we go.
The housing stock
This is newer custom building, and the architecture leans contemporary mountain and craftsman. Stone and timber elements, generous windows, and three car garages as a matter of course. Because the homes are custom, the finishes vary widely from one street to the next, and that is where an honest walkthrough earns its keep.

The setting
The neighborhood is built around The Golf Club at Red Rock, laid out in the pines, with walking trails threading through the development. The tree cover is the thing people react to first. You are minutes from Sheridan Lake Road amenities but the drive in feels like you left the city.
Buyers moving here from out of state usually ask me about maintenance on a wooded lot, and it is a fair question. We talk through defensible space, tree work and what a hillside lot asks of an owner before we get to paint colors.
