Ten categories, with the places the care is delivered. A town appearing next to a category does not mean every service in that category is available there.
Trauma and emergency care
Rapid City Hospital is the Level II trauma center. Spearfish, Sturgis, Deadwood and Custer each run a 24/7 hospital emergency department, Fall River Health Services runs a 24 hour emergency room in Hot Springs, and Fort Meade has a 24/7 VA emergency department. The East Mall Drive campus added a second emergency option on the east side of Rapid City in June 2026.
