Everything happening in Box Elder right now runs through one story. Ellsworth Air Force Base is transitioning from the B-1B to the B-21, with major base construction underway and thousands of additional personnel projected. Liberty Plaza is the most visible housing answer to that.
What it is
Liberty Plaza is a 110 acre mixed use development off Liberty Boulevard, just outside Ellsworth's main gate. It was built as a public private partnership specifically to absorb B-21 growth, which is why it went up quickly and at scale.
The development mixes single family homes, townhomes and apartments with retail space and the YMCA Liberty Center. That combination is unusual for this market, and it means a household can live, work out and run errands inside a very small radius.
Who it fits
New single family homes here have historically started around $310K. For a buyer who wants a short commute to the gate and a newly built home, that combination is hard to find elsewhere in the metro.
The mix of ownership and rental product also means a household can land here on orders, get their footing, and buy when they are ready without moving across town.
