Antelope Ridge belongs in any honest overview of Box Elder housing, with one important distinction. It is a rental community, not a for-sale subdivision, and I would rather tell you that up front than have you tour it expecting to buy.
What it is
Antelope Ridge is a 250 acre professionally managed rental community steps from Ellsworth Air Force Base. The homes run from two to five bedrooms with garages and fenced yards, and the community includes a community center, playgrounds and an RV lot.
It is open to military and civilian renters alike. The scale and the professional management are the practical difference from renting a single house from an individual owner: maintenance has a process behind it, and the amenities are part of the package.
Where it fits in the lineup
This is the rental option in the Box Elder lineup, and it is genuinely useful for buyers landing here on orders before they buy. Ellsworth is in the middle of the transition from the B-1B to the B-21, with major base construction and thousands of additional personnel projected, and not every household arriving in that wave wants to purchase in their first ninety days.
I say this to relocating clients regularly: renting first is sometimes the smarter move. Learn the towns, learn the commutes, and buy once you know which side of the metro you actually want to be on.
