Raider Pointe is new construction in Box Elder near Ellsworth Air Force Base. The name tells you the context: the base is transitioning from the B-1B to the B-21, with major base construction and thousands of additional personnel projected, and this subdivision is part of the housing response.
The housing stock
The floorplans here are modest by design, ranch and split layouts running roughly 1,000 to 1,900 square feet. That size range matters. It is the part of the market where inventory has been thinnest across the metro, and a new home at that footprint fills a real gap for first-time buyers and for households that do not want to carry more house than they need.
A walking path is integrated into the development, which is a small thing that changes how a neighborhood is used day to day.
The location
Proximity to the gate is the draw. For a household reporting to Ellsworth, cutting the commute to a few minutes buys back real time every week, and that is worth weighing against what the same money does further west in the Hills.
Box Elder itself is growing around this subdivision rather than sitting still, so I tell buyers to look at what is planned nearby as well as what is standing today.

The developer describes Raider Pointe as within walking distance of Douglas School District schools.
